Over the years, a veritable museum triangle also emerged in what is now the municipality of Berg en Dal. Orientalis' 'neighboring museum' is the Berg en Dal World Museum (formerly Africa Museum), part of the National Museum of World Cultures. That museum was founded in 1954 by missionaries and tells about African history and interculturalism. Unfortunately, this museum is now bankrupt and is no longer open to the public. In 1987, the Freedom Museum (formerly National Liberation Museum 1944-1945) was also set up here. During the liberation of Europe, the Allies stopped here when there was "a bridge too far.
