After the destruction of the war, the Rheinmuseum Emmerich was established in 1964.

The museum shows, in exhibition rooms and an outdoor area, the city's connection to the Rhine, the development of shipping on that river, as well as city history, fishing and fishing. In addition to radar installations of several technical generations and an original one-person submarine from 1945, there are 150 ship models, nautical equipment and shipping supplies. The Rhine Museum also offers changing exhibitions with themes on Rhine and city history, lectures and workshops.
