The LVR Open-Air Museum in Kommern invites you on a unique journey through time: visitors can experience traditional crafts, historic buildings, and daily life in the Rhineland. The historic center of Kommern, with its large half-timbered complex, regularly hosts well-known markets.

The Günnersdorf Grube visitor mine offers exciting tours above and below ground that explore the 2,000-year history of lead ore mining—including a treasure hunt for children. At the Hochwildpark Kommern, you can see native wildlife up close. Satzvey Castle inspires with jousting tournaments, concerts, and guided tours. The summer toboggan run at the Eifeltor Adventure World offers thrills, while the Eifel-Therme Zikkurat offers relaxation.

Nature lovers can explore the pre-Stone Age Kakus Cave, the Kartstein Rock, or spend the night at a camping site. Caravan enthusiasts will find everything that makes camping so appealing at the Mühlental Recreation and Family Park. Numerous hiking and biking trails, such as the EifelSchleifen, Eifelspuren, and the Roman Canal Trail, make Mechernich an ideal starting point for exploration.
