Altena castle with adventure elevator

Altena Castle is large and magnificent and has towered over the town of Altena since the 12th century.

The new adventure elevator takes visitors barrier-free from the valley floor of the town of Altena to the castle courtyard. There is a museum inside the castle. Medieval weapons and knight's armor, luxurious furniture and precious porcelain take visitors back to times long gone. Individual guests can explore the castle with the multimedia guide in three different languages.
