Numerous exhibits invite you to get involved—from doing math with an abacus to historic telephones and classic video games. Highlights of the permanent exhibition include milestones in the history of IT, such as the Apple I, the C64, and original components of the Whirlwind—the first computer with real-time processing, magnetic core memory, and screen and computer animation.
The HNF is the first museum in Germany to dedicate a separate exhibition space to quantum computers. With the help of the "world's largest quantum bit," visitors can explore the fundamentals of the quantum world.
The humanoid robot Ameca complements the exhibition and captivates visitors with its futuristic design and impressive facial expressions, gestures, and communication skills.
Through May 30, 2027 , the HNF is presenting the special exhibition "On the Trail of Time"— an interactive, hands-on exhibition that invites children ages three to twelve to explore and understand time.
