In 2026, Münster will serve as the unofficial capital of North Rhine-Westphalia for three days.
Then the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia will come together here to celebrate the state’s 80th anniversary. As the host city for the grand public and family festival for North Rhine-Westphalia in 2026, Münster presents itself as a city with a sense of tradition, livability, and conviviality. These celebrations were first held in 2006 in Düsseldorf to mark the state’s 60th anniversary. Since then, they have always taken place at a different location in the state, currently once every two years. More details about the program will follow.
