Until December 21, exclusive Dutch-language Zollverein tours are available on Saturdays from 1 to 9 p.m. From December 22, 2024, these will continue to be available every 3rd Sunday of the month from 11:30 a.m. onwards. In addition to the impressive architecture, you can learn about the technology and work in the "most beautiful" and once largest mine in the world. At the same time, you will learn more about the working and living conditions of the miners. In the outdoor area you will get interesting information about the architecture, nature and the detailed process and transformation of Zollverein from a mine to the modern cultural venue.
Today, on a 100-hectare site, Zollverein is an attractive location for culture, leisure, education and business. In addition to guided tours, the World Heritage Site offers the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions at the Ruhr Museum, the Red Dot Design Museum and cultural events such as the ExtraSchicht, special concerts and much more. Recreational activities and seasonal highlights - such as the Zollverein ice rink, a roller skating rink, the Zollverein Park and the company pool in summer - complete the offerings.
