Even during the coal mine's period of operation, the former Zeche Zollverein in Essen was known as the "most beautiful coal mine in the world.

In 2001, this coal mine along with the coking plant was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover one of the fascinating places of industrial history with its unique architecture and industry nature, design and art, culture, gastronomy and much more.
