On the second and fourth Saturdays of each month at 1:00 p.m., Dutch-language guided tours titled “About Coal and Miners” are offered at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site.
During this tour of what was once the world’s largest mine, you’ll get a glimpse of the authentically preserved above-ground facilities and learn about the production processes of what was once the world’s most productive coal mine. You’ll also learn more about the working and living conditions of the Zollverein miners.
