During the Whitsun weekend, not only do the roses bloom around theDorenburg in the Lower Rhine Open Air Museum: for the 14th time, the GartenLeben flower and plant show is a real highlight in the region. Amid the imposing backdrop of the open-air museum, colorful flowers bloom, fresh herbs smell and green fingers come together: some100 exhibitors show special garden accessories and furniture, curious works of art, all kinds of antiquated or even the modern art kick for outdoors. A plant doctor examines soil and leaf samples of native plants for damage, and at the plant rarity market there are all kinds of rare cacti and perennials from around the world to marvel at. The supporting program ranges from talking elephants, a nostalgic corner store and childhood toys of all ages.
