This cycle tour will make the hearts of families and children beat faster. On the 22 kilometre long short tour in the western Münsterland around Isselburg and the water castle Anholt, exciting highlights await you. Let yourself be enchanted by historic buildings, parks, culinary surprises and a beautiful landscape. 

The starting point of the cycle tour is the impressive water castle Anholt (photo) in the westernmost tip of Münsterland. Even if the mighty castle attracts all eyes, we sway back on our bikes and follow the cycle path in a small loop to the northwest. After only a few minutes and only a few metres from the Dutch border, the cycle path turns south-east and leads through fields and meadows towards the Bocholter Aa. 

The direct cycle path along the Bochholter Aa is beautiful and in the summer months, canoeists can always be seen on the idyllic river. Afterwards, you really rest on the track, because you pass through lush greenery along the wide fields and the nature reserve Suderwicker Venn. As far as the view goes, you will not find any slopes here. We continue through the Schüttenstein forest and again past enormous fields. Then you ride past the centre of Isselburg. A good opportunity to pick up the supplies again. Shortly afterwards, you cross the blue ribbon of the Issel into a forest of the Anholt Switzerland.
