Mönchengladbach

Dreamy Rhine meadows as far as the eye can see - with gnarled main meadows, straight poplar avenues, medieval castles, baroque castles, historic city centers, mills, lakes and nature reserves:

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Middle Rhine district has an individual character and has much to offer for a short vacation by bicycle! With its two district free cities of Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, as well as the Rhine district of Neuss and the district of Viersen, the Middle Rhine is not only a strong economic region, but also a very diverse one. The project #CyclingEnjoymentNiederrhein aims to take interested cyclists on a 200-kilometer adventure cycling tour through this impressive landscape with its charming gastronomic and cultural offerings.

While exploring by bicycle, one can enjoy intensely - for example, in the Rhine region is still the medieval charm of the town of Zons on the Rhine. The Knechtsteden monastery with its beautiful monastery garden in Dormagen or the many castles along the route are also worth a visit. Via the Rheinschiene adventure route you reach the district town of Neuss with its Quirinusmünster and the Museum Insel Hombroich. In the district of Viersen, cyclists cross the Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park with historic mills and idyllic lakes until arriving in Grefrath at the Lower Rhine Open Air Museum. For those interested in culture, it is worth stopping in the town of Viersen, home to the town gallery with its sculpture collection. The imposing Linn Castle, Lake Elf or the special charm of the Niepkuhlen impress visitors to Krefeld beyond the city's many museums and parks. In Mönchengladbach, the heart of the culturally interested cyclist beats for the Museum Abteiberg and the Rheydt Castle. For the impressive windowpainting in the historic Münster St. Vith and the 5 hectare "Bunten Garten" where you will gladly get off your bike and enjoy with all your senses.
