Extraschicht festival, annual highlight

The Ruhr metropolitan area is once again organizing this large-scale festival this year.

On June 27, 2026 , from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., approximately 50 former mines, blast furnaces, machine halls, factory buildings, and other industrial cultural sites will be transformed into venues for 500 events featuring music, comedy, art, culture, theater, and acrobatics, welcoming some 200,000 visitors. The program for the Night of Industrial Culture ranges from large-scale shows to exclusive guided tours.
