Extraschicht festival

The Ruhr metropolitan area is once again organizing this large-scale festival this year.

On June 28, 2025 , from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., approximately 50 former mines, blast furnaces, machine halls, factory buildings, and other industrial cultural locations will be transformed into stages for 500 events in the fields of music, comedy, art, culture, theater, and acrobatics for some 200,000 visitors. The program for the Night of Industrial Culture ranges from large shows to exclusive guided tours.
