When the historic Dorenburg in the Niederrheinisches Freilichtmuseum open-air museum reveals itself in the warm light of braziers and countless small lights, a special and atmospheric Christmas atmosphere is created. During the 2nd and 3rd Advent weekend, courtyards and alleys turn into a festive market full of handmade treasures and Christmas delicacies. More than 85 exhibitors present their works in the historic courtyards - from fine jewelry and wooden art to homemade unique pieces. Those looking for special gifts beyond the massive offerings will find what they are looking for here. Historic atmosphere The grounds around the Dorenburg with its old, original farms are an experience in themselves. Many of the old workshops will be put back into use this weekend. A baker bakes bread in the old bakery and a blacksmith works in the old, original forge. This creates an atmosphere that brings visitors extra close to Christmas - atmospheric, romantic and family-friendly.
