The Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra is one of the most important cultural institutions in North Rhine-Westphalia and enjoys an excellent reputation. The focus each season is on the 12 Philharmonic concerts, which present central works from the symphonic tradition. Through exciting crossover projects, open-air concerts and the education program "klasse.klassik," they have also inspired new audiences in recent years.
The orchestra has traditionally been at home at the Theater Duisburg, where it works closely with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. For their efforts, they received the City of Duisburg's Music Prize in 2013.
