Rhein-Ruhr Marathon

Recreation & Sports

Rhein-Ruhr-Marathon Along with Berlin and Frankfurt, the Rhein-Ruhr-Marathon is one of the longest running city marathons in Germany.

Since 1981, the race has gripped all of Duisburg. Since then, more than 100,000 participants have discovered why it is so beautiful on the Rhine (and in the Ruhr). The start is in Germany's largest sports park. The destination is at the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena, home of MSV Duisburg. 485 starters participated in the premiere. Meanwhile, some 6,000 women and men run along the famous river every year. For a long time, there was only the classic 42.195-kilometer marathon. Meanwhile, this marathon is more than just a race: the inline marathon, half marathon, relay marathon and Germany Trophy of handbikers, as well as the student run and school relays make up the complete experience.

This year, this marathon is on May 5.
